Abigail Mizzi

Mizzi.jpgWhat are you are studying/what you are interested in studying and/or researching while at Purdue?

I'm interested in doing propulsion research at Zucrow Laboratories in the future. This past summer I completed an internship at Collins Aerospace working on the Avionics Test Engineering team. Over the summer I improved the workflow and processes in the test station assembly labs for cockpit systems in Boeing and Airbus aircrafts.

What made you want to join the Leading Women Toward Space Careers program?

I joined the program to meet other women aspiring to work in the space industry, build relationships with experienced mentors, and learn more about various career paths.

What area would you like to work in after graduation? (What career path, interests, opportunities, etc., would you like to accomplish? What field are you interested in?)

After graduation I hope to work in the design and testing of propulsion systems for spacecrafts. I aim to learn more about different types of propulsion systems to improve the designs and test the products throughout their development. I hope to work at rocket companies and at testing sites around the US that are working to make space travel more reliable and economical.
